What is GEO or AI search optimisation?
GEO stands for Generative Engine Optimisation. It's the process of making your business visible when people ask AI tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Google AI for a recommendation. Unlike traditional Google search, AI gives one answer — not ten links. GEO makes sure that answer includes you.
How is GEO different from SEO?
SEO gets you ranking in Google's blue links. GEO gets you cited and recommended in AI-generated answers. The signals are different — AI systems rely on schema markup, structured content, and third-party corroboration rather than just keywords and backlinks. In 2026 you need both, but most Australian businesses have done zero GEO.
How long does it take to show up in AI search?
